A mobile massage is simply when a therapist comes to you at your location - home or hotel. This is both convenient and time saving as you don't need to travel anywhere! I bring a massage table, oil/lotion, and sheets/towels. My table size is approximately 1m(W) x 2m(L). The massage can be conducted in any room that fits my table in and you feel comfortable and relaxed in. A normal bed cannot be used as your mattress is not designed to properly support your body while pressure is being applied during a massage. From a professional therapist point of view - the ergonomics and body mechanics would not be favourable for neither therapist or client.
Otherwise, the massage process will be conducted in very much the same way as if you had gone to a spa/salon or massage centre. BUT, you will have more control of your environment ! So, things like your room temperature, the lighting level, the scent of the room and the music (if you want) you can set up yourself to your personal preference.
What do clients wear for the massage?
For most treatments, clients undress to their comfort level (typically leaving just loose underwear on). You will be professionally draped with towels throughout the session, and only the area being worked on will be uncovered.
What does "full body" mean?
Professionally - Full body means optional head to toe! But, it obviouslydoes not mean including the intimate areas of your body.
Generally included may be - Feet, Legs, Glutes, Back, Neck, Arms, Hands, Stomach, Chest (not breasts), face and Scalp. But feel free to discuss with your therapist any areas of your body that you prefer not to have massaged.
How do I prepare for a mobile massage?
Begin by clearing a space for the massage table and your therapist. I will need a minimum space of approximately 2m x 1m.
Ensure the room is set up to your environmental preference - Temperature, lighting, scent, and music/silence.
Have a short warm shower - no need to shave!
Have a robe (or equivalent) to wear for before and after the massage.
Prepare any questions, or anything you may want to discuss with your therapist, relevant to your massage.
Relax and enjoy your massage !
Are you qualified and insured?
Yes, absolutely. I am ITEC Level 3 qualified, fully insured, and a member of the FHT (Federation of Holistic Therapists). Professionalism and client safety are my top priorities.
Those were the most frequently asked questions, but if you still have a question not already answered, I'm happy to help.
